INCREASED EXCHANGE
"TREMENDOUS BENEFIT"
HELP TO DAIRYMEN
(Special to the "Evening Post.") FEILDING, This Day. Referring to the question of exchange at the annual meeting of shareholders of the Cheltenham Co-op. Dairy Co. yesterday, the chairman (Mr. C. G. C. Dermer) mentioned that there had been considerable criticism very largely from the towns. However,'he thought that the country had received a tremendous benefit from the raising of the exchange. The position was that something had to be done to help the primary producer, and the raising of theexchange was the easiest, fairest, and most equitable method. In the case of the Cheltenham Company, the premium was £20,744 16s lid, which represented more than Id per lb on butterfat for the season. Undoubtedly it had been a considerable benefit- in helping suppliers to carry on. ■
