OUTBREAK IN NEWCASTLE
BUSINESS AFFECTED
• (Received August IS, 11 a.m.) SYDNEY, This Day. - There is a mild influenza epidemic in Sydney, but in Newcastle the outbreak is more serious. All businesses arc operating with depleted staffs. Over two hundred employees of Lysaght's are affected, and the staff of the Newcastle Hospital has suffered severely. Being prostrated with a serious attack, a father,'mother, and five childrent were unable to-leave their beds and open tho' door for tho. doctor, who forced a window and climbed through to the patients.
