AUSTRALIA'S CASE
OFFER BY EXPORTERS
BRIGHT PROSPECTS
(Received August IS, 11 a.m.) SYDNEY, This Day. The "Sydney Morning Herald" says 'that the prospects of.au agreement between oversea shipowners and shippers of Australian produce to the United Kingdom on the question of freights are cojisidoricd bright, following the submission of a now offer by the exporters of refrigerated produce and wool. One prominent exporter said: "We should like to know on what .basis New Zealand shippers reached an agreement, with the shipowners. AVc base our case on the disparity already existing between the rates from Australia, and New Zealand." A cable has been received from the head office of the Blue Star Line, emphasising the fact that although the lino will shortly bo running a service to- New Zealand, that will not interfere with the plans to establish a service to the Commonwealth next year, provided that the lino is not excluded from Australian freight contracts.
