NEW SOUTHERN GROSS
LAUNCHING NEXT MONTH
(By Telegraph.—Press. Association.) :' AUCKLAND, This Day. The new Melancsian Mission ship Southern Cross will, be 'launched; on September 4, and is expected to sail from the Mersey on September 14, and arrive in the Solomon Islands about November 17. Captain E. A. Bray has been seleetoa as master. He was for four years master of a vessel in.the ■'Gilbert; and Ellis Islands. It is expected that the chief officer (Mr. Scott), and the chief engineer (Mr. Newton), who, were on, tho wrecked ship, will., occupy those posts on the new one. .'...'..
