SUNDAY SCHOOL UNION
The monthly meeting of the Sunday School Union was held last evening. The report of the sub-committee on prize distribution showed that arrangements were well in hand for the ten rallies to be held in practically all the suburbs. Each will be on a different evening, beginning with Knrori on September 10. The secretary reported that extracts from the report or Mr. T. B. Strong. M.A., on the teachers' examination had been sent to the candidates, and it was hoped that they would benefit by the criticism offered. The meeting decided to support the youth workers institute to be held in St. Andrew's Church buildings on August 28 and 29 and September 4 and 5. A letter from Mr. A. H. Reed offering favourable terms to the union with a view to useful cooperation in Sunday school work was accepted. Miss A. Stevenson reported that a successful primary teachers' meet-, ing had been held at Lower Hutt, at which the Rev. L. B. Busfield, secretary of the Auckland union, hnd Riven an address to 3l> teachers.
Sixty-four tois of letters were sent bf air from England last year, exceeding all previous records. ■ ■. .
