'■■'"The'■ Secret of Madame Blanche"'is the weekend attraction at the Empire Theatre. Tlie 'story concerns a, young chorus girl In a musical show. The play goes to England, and the show girl marries a titled yoiuis man who subsequently becomes involved in a series of complications and commits suicide. The widow is- left with a baby son. but her father-in-law takes the child away. Then comes a period of wandering around the world, when she unexpectedly finds her son during a fight in a rate. A man is'killed-in .the fracas, and to shield her son the mother takes tho blame without revealing her identity. On '• tho surface of it, "A Night In Cairo" depicts an engrossing narrative of a beautiful young woman who visits tiie Nile country in the company of her somewhat nlt-witted English flauce and is abducted by a romantic native priiice. The picture, however, has been directed-In so engaging a manner, and is enacted with an equally refreshing contempt for tho conventional, that it stands head and shoulders above .'tho usual "when Kast inocts West" theme. .'■'.} ; '■
