CENTRE MEETING
A' meeting of the Wellington Football Association was held last evening. Mr. W. B. Hieka presided. The Stop Out player who was involved in an altercation during a'junior B match between Stop Out and Miramar Rangers at Eongotai Reserve on July 29, appeared before the meeting. After discussion, it was decided to suspend the player for one week. The chairman stressed the serious nature of the offence, and informed the player that his suspension would be placed on record. No match will be played by the Auckland representative team against Wellington on their homeward journey after the F.A., Trophy game against Otago, on Augult 26. The Poverty Bay Association wrote asking if a representative match could be arranged against Wellington in September. Owing to financial considerations and the unsuitable time, no match will be played this year.against Poverty Bay. • Owing to delays which had been caused by postponements the Wellington Association's championship competitions were behind, said the chairman.' He expressed! the opinion that application should be made to the City Council for an extension of the season to September 16. It was decided to take this action. The following first division fixtures have been drawn for Saturday, August 19:— A Division.—Waterside v. Marist, at Basin Reserve No. 1; Swifts v. Hutt, at Kelburn Park; Diamond v. Hospital, at Hospital. Semi-final of Auld Memorial Cup: Petone v. Technical Old Boys, at Petone. , , B Division.—lsland Bay v. Onslow, at Anderson Park; Miramar Rangers v. Stop Out, at Seatoun; Rovers v. N.A.D.A., at North Park; Seatoun v. Institute. Old Boys, at Basin Reserve No. 2.
