THANKSGIVING DAY

A large -representative audionio assembled in Wesley Hall recently to celebrate the annual Thanksgiving Day of" tho Mothodist Women's Missionary Auxiliary. The hall was tastefully decorated,: with bowls of Iceland poppies, wattle-blossom,* yellow jonquils, with pussy-willow and native foliage. Mrs. H. J./Rowe (president) occupied the chair, and gave a short address on tho purpose for which tho work of tho auxiliary was carried on. ' * The treasurers* of the six branchfes in turn, handed in the 1 special donations, the members of each branch standing at the same time. Mrs. Pacey (Dominion president) accepted the gifts and dedicated theai, the total amount being almost £65. The South Wellington branch arranged .the programme of music, which included songs by Mrs. Pengelly and Miss Norah Greene, accompanied by Mrs. Roß9iter. A. play-reading, "Tho Patchwork Quilt," was presented, tho Rev. Bramwell and Mrs. Scott, Mr. and Mrs. Binet Brown, Misses Joan Feltham, Lovedy Roberts, and Ruth Martin representing the characters in the pleasing fantasy by Rachel Lyman A "bring-and-buy" table was presided over by Mesdames Lynneberg and Freeman. A delightful afternoon tea was provided.
