MASTERTON SALE.
The Farmers' Distributing Co., Masterton, offered yesterday 718 sheep, 110 cattle, and some pigs. The company reports that prices for i'at sheep eased considerably, resulting in several pens being passed, while stores were about on a par with late rates. The large quantity of-dairy stock met with a very dull sale, but pigs were in good demand. Prices were: —Fat sheep: Good fat 'wethers, 20s to 225; medium wethers, 16s 8d to 17s Od; prime heavy ewes, 17s 5d to 295; light ewes, 12s Od to 15s 6d; prime Southdown ewes, 21s; light do., 12s Cd to 13s. Fat hoggets, 16s to 19s 6d; lighter do., 12s Id to 14s. Store sheep: Store ewes, 5s to 8s 3d; b.f. hoggets, 9s 4d to 12s Id; small wether hoggets, 8s to 9s 4d; 2-tooth wethers, 12s to 13s. Cattle: Spring heifers, £2 to £3 10s; springing Jersey cows, £3 to £4; later calvers, £1 10s to £2 10s; yearling Jersey heifers, 17s to 325; Jersey bulls, £1 5s to £2 ss; potter cows,, 10s to 18s.
