ITINERANT TRADERS.
The Hawkc's Bay Drapers', Clothiers', and Boot Retailers' Association has decided that if, in future, their members are faced with itinerant traders or auctioneering firms selling lines in which drapers are interested, they will arrange a pool of all their surplus stocks of the lines to be auctioned by the newcomers and engage a room adjacent to. the auction-room and hold a sale, if possible, the day prior to the auction in the room adjoining. This method is adopted by the Nelspn traders, and is considered to be worth a trial. It was recommended that before the next annual conference of Municipal Associations the matter be taken up with the Mayors of the different towns in Hawke's Bay with a viuw to having the Act altered so as to give better protection, to legitimate trade,
