Miss Elizabeth Blake (Mrs. Stanley Natusch), Wellington, who is acting as , judgo at the South Canterbury Drama Festival being held in Timaru this I week, is the guest of Mrs. F. J. Eolleston during her stay in Timaru. Lady Ngata is paying a visit to Auckland. Miss Jessie Peacock, Eawhiti Terraeo, will leavo Wellington at tho beginning of next month for Sydney, where she will stay with Miss Audrey Nicholson. Misa Molly Green, Wellington, has left for a visit to Auckland. Miss Turton, Wadestown, will leave at the end of the month by tho Tainui for England, whero she will join Miss Marguerite Levin, who has taken a flat in London. Miss Kioro King, producer for tho Canterbury Bopertory Society, arrived in Wellington this morning to act as judge at the drama festival to be held this week. She is the guest of Mrs. Whitloek, Kelburn. ' Mr. and Mrs. Philip Myers, Hobson Street, will leave by the Monowai tomorrow for' Melbourne, where tho wedding of their son, Mr. Frank Myers, to Miss Joan Buckley will take place on August 16. Mrs. 0. S. Thomas, Christchurca, is staying at Lowry Bay, /Wellington. Miss Jessie Forbes, Cheviot, is visit- , ing Mrs. Alex Forbes, Opawa, Christ-' ' church. Miss B. Downing, Wellington,, who has been the guest of Mrs. Sydney Sherwood, Mount Eden, Auckland, has returned south. Mrs. B. E. Wallis, Timaru, arrived from tho south, this morning, and is visiting her sister, Mrs. H. B. Barclay, Karori. ' . Mrs. H. T. Dawson (Pahiatua) and Mips Meredith (Masterton) are staying at the Eoyal Oak Hotel. Among the South Island visitors to Christchurch for Grand National Week are Mrs. H. Elworthy and Misses Elworthy (Timaru), Mr. and" Mrs. Bittson Thomas (Marlborough), Miss Brenda Bell (Shag Valley), Colonel and Mrs. Redmond Neill (Mount Somers), Mrs. A. Elworthy (Timaru), Mr. and Mrs. P. Dearden (Waiau), Mr. and Mrs. K. M: Austin (Elderslie), Mrs. M. Bout (Nelson),. and Mr. and Mrs. H. Greenwood (Teviotdalo). ■ At the meeting of the,, Wellington centre of the N.Z. branch of the British Bed Cross Society yesterday the secretary (Mr. M. S. Galloway) mentioned tho recent death of Mrs. J. Elmslie Ecid, who was a prominent and loyal worker on tho Waipukurau executive.
