ALREADY GOING STRONG

(British Official Wireless.) (Keecivcd August 3, 1 p.m.) RUGBY, August 2. An attempt to swim the Channucl from Dover to the Trench coast was begun this morning by tho English swimmer, Miss Mercedes Gleitzc, who in 1027 swam from tho French coast to Dover. She hoped to complete today's swim in. 20 hours. After six hours she was swimming strongly about 8 miles east of Dover.
