Kraef t, of Chicago University, considers that the publicity for the Dominion's attractions could be much better handled, with far more satisfaction both to tourists and to New Zcalanders themselves. Her mam contentions, made in an interview, were that the New Zealand tourist publicity material featured the wrong things, and also put too much, stress on -thu sniallnetis of the country. "Too much is; made in your publicity material or' the smalliicss," she said. "From it, we Americans get the idea tliat we can come 'over here and sec it all at once. When'we do como, we find that tho-'timo allowed us makes it necessary to leave out many of the most interesting places. I have boen lucky enough to see the: West Coast and the glaciers, and I am .going to Mount Cook, but I.am very sorry indeed that I shall halve' to return without seeing 'Queenstown, and, particularly the West Coast fiords. "Tlien you feature the wrong tilings,".. she continued. "At tho moment the' best illustration I can think of, is the'Bullcr/Gorge, because lam particularly sore-about1 that, I was led to icxpect so much, and yet everything to the." south ,of .it is most interesting. A'giiin one of fyqur publicity sheets will'say'that something is-tiie- most wonderful' su~-tlie world. It probably is, but wo arc never told why. ; ~•■■■'■'.
