PERENNIAL BROCCOLI

A. NEW VEGETABLE

Among recent introductions of new vegetables, Cooper's Nine Star broccoli should take a leading place. The plants are perennial, producing fair-sized heads year after year. It is quite hardy ;aiid will withstand frost. Unlike'the ordinary broccoli, which produces only one head, 'the "Nine Star" will produce from five to fifteen heads at the one time. Being perennial it does not have to be pulled out and destroyed after bearing, 'but, provided the ground is. well manured/ will continue to bear year after year. At least four feet each .should be allowed, between the plants., ' . :'■'■_
