(Received August 2, 1.30 p.m.) LONDON, August 1. Hammond has reached 2000 runs for the season. Jardine while fielding was struck below the knee, and fell like a log. He was assisted off the ground. The nerve of his leg is affected, and at present he is forced to hobble on two sticks.
