Mrs. J., Holmes, Matahiwi, Masterton, arrived today to visit Mrs. Hector BoJleston, Hcretaunga. Mrs. L. D. Cohen and Mrs. David Wilkio left Wellington today to spend ten days at tho Chateau Tongariro. Mrs. J. B. MacEwan, Fitzherbert Terrace, has returned to Wellington after a brief visit %o Auckland. Miss Iniwa Bunny, Lower Hutt, who hna been the guest of Mrs. Dudley Kettle, Napier, is now staying with Mrs. P. Loahy, Napior. Miss Mildred Cooke, Christehurch, who was the guest of Mrs. Cheviot Bell, Lowry Bay, is now staying with Mrs. Laurence Chaytor, Blenheim. Miss B. E. Stone-Wigg, Waihi, Winchester, arrived ia Wellington yesterday from tho south. Miss Frances Harty, Wellington, is the guest of Mrs. Lougnnan, Fendalton, Christchureh. Miss Pauline Rodgers, Wellington, is spending a holiday in Ekotahuna. Mrs. F. S. Hodson, Hobson Street, who has boon tho guest of Lady Acland, Christehurch-, returned to Wellington yesterday morning. Mrs. A. J. Bcnzie, Avonside, Christchurch, arrived in Wellington this morning, en route to England, where she will spend about twelve months. The cngagemoat is anuouncod in an exchange of Iris, elder daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Montgomery, "Wairewa," Little Eivor, to Mr. James Skinner, of Hong Kong. Mrs. H. W. Hopkins, Bemuera, Auckland, is visiting her daughter, Mrs. J. B. Grange; Mariri Koad, Kelbufn. Miss Nancy Nicholls, "Glen^Solwyn," Tikokino, is the guest of Mrs. Hobbs Jones, The Terrace. Mrs. E. Murray Fuller is leaving by the Wanganella tomorrow for Sydney. While there Mrs. Fuller will arrange an exhibition of pictures on tho lines of those held by nor husband, the late Mr. Murray Fuller. Madame Josephine Ottloo arrived in Wellington this morning from Christchurch, and will sail tomorrow by tho Wanganolla en route to Molbournc, whore her future homo will be. Mrs, A. 0. Oroll, accompanied by Mrs. A. Beauchainp, has left for Palmers ton North, to attend tho wedding of Mr. Keith Croll to Miss Jean Campboll, daughter of Mr. and Mrs, W. Campbell, of Longburn. Mrs. W. H. Ball, Christehurch, is visiting Wellington, and is staying at tho Royal Oak Hotel. Mrs. Matson, Christchureh, is among tho guests at the Grand Hotel. At the annual meeting of the New Zealand Numismatic Society on Monday rofeionco- was mado to the fact that Miss Nw Towsloy had relinquished her position as numismatist to the Dominion Museum and intonded leaving shortly for Australia. The secretary (Mr. A. Sutherland) said that he understood Miss Tewslcy was tho only museum officer in Now Zealand possessing a ■spoeialist knowledge of>- numismatics and it was unfortunate that her ser: vices were to bo lost to- the Dominion. Mr. Johannes C. Andersen and Profossbr J, Rankino Brown also paid tributes to Miss Tewslcy's work as a numismatisf. Miss Tewsley suitably replied.
