The recent disturbance has passed away eastwards ' and a .deep westerly ' depression Is no\f advancing across the South Taemau Sea, while a slight anticyclone is moving over northern New Zealand. The north-west and west winds have given place to south-westerlies at .many places, and the latter have freshened in the North Island, where in parts they have reached the force of a gale.
