WILL NOT GO TO CAMP
ASHBURTON RELIEF MEN
FAVOURED CONDITIONS
(By Telegraph.—Press Association.) ASHBURTON, This Day. By a large majority, tho local relief workers decided not to enter camps I organised by the County Council, which finds it impossible to defray the huge cost of transporting the men to do joba at a, distance. The camps provide specially-constructed 'huts and eook'houscs, with more liberal wages and allowances than elsewhere in the Dominion. The council issued a statement this morning that it is not satisfied with the work clono under the No. 5 scheme1, and that the only alternative is the camp scheme.
