TT is hereby notified that the usual •*■ Junior and Senior Public Service Entrance Examinations for Shorthand-typists will bo held on November 18. In addition, it is proposed to hold the following examinntions in the four main centres on December 2: — ~ Intermediate Examination—Shorthand 130 words a minute; typewriting 50 words 3 a minute. [. Special Examination —Shorthand 150 words • ■ a minute; typewriting 50 words a ,_ # minute. " If sufficient candidates offer, an examination for the' purposes of the Shorthand f Pxcporters' Act ; 1908, will also be conr ducted in conjunction with the Intermediate and Special Examinations. This !" examination requires a speed of from 100 i to 180 words a minute in shorthand, with , not more than one per cent, of error in ', transcript. The fee for this examinntion is £2 2s, and applications must also be accompanied by evidence that appli- - cant has attained the age of 21 years, and at least two testimonials as to character.
