DOMINION DELEGATION

VARIED ENTERTAINMENTS

(From "The Post's" Representative.) LONDON, Juno 23.

The New Zealand Prime Minister and Mrs. Forbes and the Hon. Mr. Masters and Mrs. Masters attended the luncheon at Dorchester Hotel given by the British Government on Monday to the Dominion, delegates' and • their wives. Owing to the limitation of time, there was only one speech—that of the chairman, the Rt. Hon. J. H. Thomas, Secretary of State for Dominion Affairs, His speech was not intended to instruct, but merely to amuse.

In facetious vein, Air. Thomas mentioned that every Dominion Premier had applied to reply to the toast of the "Guests," but there were reasons, why they should not do so. Mr. Forbes, ho said, desired to make some remarks on Rugby football, but that could not be allowed. Mr. Bruce desired to discourse on the subject of body-Jine bowling, but that was out of the question. Mr. Thomas mentioned that Mr. AfacDonald was present as the Prime Minister of the senior Dominion.

On Tuesday afternoon the ladies of tlio New Zealand delegation attended the party which Lady Wilford gave, among the guests being the New Zealandera who are attending tonight's Court. In the evening, delegates were guests at dinner of one or other company in the group of Ancient City Guilds, held in the hall of each company. Then later came the reception held by Lord and Lady Londonderry, at Londonderry House, Park Lane, one of the most notable homes* of London, famed for many years for the brilliance of its entertainments. The delegates wore invited to meet H.R.H. the Prince of Wales and T.R.H. the Duke and Duchess of York. Others present included the Princess Royal, the Earl of Harowood, Prince and Princess Arthur of Connaught, Princess Alice, Countess of Athlone, and Major-General the Earl of Athlone, Princess Helena Victoria, Princess Marie Louise, and Lady Patricia Ramsay, the Archbishop of Canterbury, Viscount and Viscountess Craigavon, Sir Thomas and Lady Augusta Inskip, Earl and Countess Jcllicoe, the Chief Rabbi, and Lady Wilford.

The visitors were received by Princess Marie Louise (president). Her Highness was assisted by the wives of the Dominion High Commissioners, the committee of the overseas . section of the Forum Club, Miss. Alice Williams, chairman of tile executive committee, and Mrs. Claude Wilson, chairman of directors.

This afternoon (Friday) they are attending a reception given by the Lady Mayoress (Lady Greenaway) at the Mansion House, and tomorrow all the party will probably be at the air pageant at Hendon. '

Next Monday Mr. Forbe,s and Mr. Masters will attend a reception to the delegates at the- Guildhall, On Wednesday (June 28) there is a reception given by the First Lord of the Admiralty, at which they will be present, and on June 30 there is the reception given by the Speaker of the House of Commons at the Speaker's House, Westminster. Previous to the reception, the delegates will be dining with the Speaker, and tho wives of delegates will be dining with various private hostesses. ' Mrs." Forbes is to dine with Mrs. L. S. Cole at the Ladies' Carlton Club, and Mrs. Masters is dining with Lady Cunliffo Lister.

In th© intervals between the sessions of the Conference Mr. Forbes has arranged a large number of business appointments and interviews.
