TEACHING OF ENGLISH

(British Official Wireless.) (Received July 2(i, 11 a.m.) RUGBY, July 25. The situation in Malta was the subject of questions addressed in the House of Commons today to tho Minister for the Colonies (Sir Philip Cunlift'e Lister). Asked if lie'was aware that in ■ regard to the teaching of English and Italian, people were becoming exceedingly anxious at tho growing ltalianisation of the British colony, the Minister said that tho House of Commons unanimously approved tho coiirsc which tho Government took in regard to the teaching of English in Malta. That decision would bo strictly carried out. He thought tho Maltese Government understood that there could be no question, of modifying in the slightest dogreo the unanimous decision of Parliament.
