ALSO OF PERLE DE ROUGE

Tho deaths of the stallion Psychology, owned by Mr. F. 0. Bruce, of Whangara, and of the brood mare Porle de Rouge, owned by Mr. Game Currington, are reported from Gisborne.

Psychology was found to be in need of physic last Wednesday, and after administration he appeared better, but he was later found dead. He was bred in 1919, and was imported by Mr. T. H.- Lowry, who gave him good mares at the Okawa Stud. He was by Tracery from Keep Smiling, by Marco (a son of Barcaldine). His stock showed galloping ability, but seemed to fare better under Australian conditions than here. Second Wind (by Psychology or Griuulcourt) has been, one of Australia's best stayers. Chrysology (out of Desert Gold), Marion's Birthday) Perception (a winner in Australia), Simba1, Flair, and Amyril are a few, of Psychology's stock. His mares .possess high-class credentials as stud matrons. .

Perle de Rouge was bred by Mr. "EL White, of Gisborne, in. 1922, and, was by Polydamon from Perle dOr, by Multiform from Aura, by Richmond from Instep, by Lord Clifden. It is a great family; both here and in Australia. Aura was the great-grandam of Croesus, Desert Gold, and Nigger Minstrel, and' .Perle dOr, in addition to Perle de Rouge,' foaled Molyneux, Perle de Leon, and ICtoil© d Or (dam of1 Aladdin). Perle de Rouge.was the dam of the Sydney winner Diamond do Rouge, and she was in foal'to Hunting Song at the time of her death.
