The Hawke's Bay Association wrote stating that arrangements had been made with Poverty Bay for a representative game to be played at Napier either on August 12 of 19. The match is for the East Coast Challenge Cup, at present held by Poverty Bay. , Following oil various inquiries fvom associations ou the subject of the Chatham Cup final date in • Wellington, it was stated that August 26 was ■the latest that the match. could take place. Tugby, linesmen, Messrs. A. E. Parkinson ami R. H. Parfitt. Ihe appointments were approved. The Auckland Association wrote stating that W. Zuill, goalkeeper for the 3Sew Zealand touring team in Australia who had been injured in the third, lest, had not yet recovered. It was expected that, he would not be able to resume his occupation for three months. The association asked for details of the N.Z.P.A.'s insiir-: ance scheme, with a view to assisting Zuill financially. ■ . : The chairman .stated that, the team, which travelled in Australia had not been insured by the N.Z.F.A. Mr. H. L. Godber, manager of the team, stated that the Australian Soccer Footbal Association had agreed to cover medical ■ expenses for injuries received while on tour. He considered that they would be liable to meet the medical expenses incurred in Zuill's case. ■A letter was received from the secretary of the Australian S.F.A. stating that although no official decision had been made on the matter, there was a possibility that the. N.Z.F.A. would be asked to share in the loss of £550 incurred by the Australian body on the recent tour of the Dominion's representatives. It was not considered-in-Australia-that the best New Zealand team had been sent, and that the team comprised many young players who- were chosen for experience rather than for playing ability. It was more than likely that different terms would be sought if the Australian team visited New Zealand next season, whereby the Australian F.A. would receive a percentage'of'the gate takings. The report of Mr. Godber on the recent tour, which lias been published in Ihe Post" was considered' by the meeting. The chairman said it :was quite evident that football in Australia had improved, while that in the Dominion had not. He thought that frequent visits from overseas to Australia was a reason for the quality of football there. If an improvement was to take place in New Zealand it was necessary for more overseas visits to the Dominion or more visits overseas by New Zealand representatives. The results of the tour show," he said, that more interchanges of visits between various countries should be encouraged it the »aine in New Zealand is to improve. Association football here would not go ahead much unless that took place. _ Various matters in connection with the tour, including ' consideration of the amount of players' allowances, were discussed. ... Letters of appreciation for their ser-. vices are to be sent to the manager, players, and to those who assisted in Australia on the tour.
