SUPPORT FOR NEW BODY

CHKISTCHUKCH, July _ 24. The most representative gathering of Christehurch business and professional men held for some years decided at a meeting tonight to give full support to the National Reconstruction Association, a branch, of which was recently formed in the city. ; .After an address by Mr. J. D. McMillan, through whose work the association was formed in Auckland; speakers emphasised the need for action to revive investment in industry, expressing the opinion that the country could not afford to permit the economic drift to continue within the Dominion in the hopo that help would come from overseas.
