AUSTRALIAN PRICE OF GOLD.
The price' fixed by the Commonwealth Bank for gold, including jewellery, lodgedat the Melbourne Mint, for the week endeil July 14, was at the rate of approximately £6 19s 7d per standard ounce (22 carats) equal to a premium of 79.20 per cent. Payment was made according *to the assay value of the gold. The price is 5d lower on the week. The price per ounce fine is £7 12s 3d, a fall of 6d on the week.
