United Press Association—By Electric TeleKraph—CoiiyrlKlU.' (Received July, 25, 2 p.m.) LONDON, July 24. ' In the House of Commons Mr. J. H. Thomas (Dominions Secretary), reply-., ing to Mr. P. J. Hannon (C.) said that no words cpuld adequately express the work done by .the Empire Marketing Board. It was primarily instituted aa a substitute for preference to the Dominions. "Wo are anxious," said tha Minister, '' to continue, but we are not prepared to feed the baby." Mr. Hanhoii: Remember that British agriculture has benefited very consider-_ ably by the action of tjiic board. Mr. Thomas: Any advertisement of encouragement to British agricultura can always be paid by ourselves, but it is unfair to expect the British Government to foot the total bill. The board is designed to benefit the whole of the Empire as well as Britain.
