During the- weekend the. final of the Sievwright Cup . was . played between W. Taylor and S. Welsford, two of the most promising young players of the club. Tayjor having to concede four strokes in .the 36 holes, did exceedingly well.to finish all square, after being 2 down'and 2 to go. An additional nine holes "were play-ed, and Welsford just got home 1 up at the fortyfifth hole. '
In the second round of the Riiwlings Cupj L. McGirr proved too strong for the rest of the field,' finishing all square, as in the-first round. M. Hennessey, who was 2 up-in the first round, was unable to main-tain-his advantage.. ' -
The Stephens Trophy, which was played in conjunction with the second round of the Rawlings- Ci\'p, was also won by L. McGirr. ...
.The best cards returned in the-18-hole stroke competition were:D. B. Strattnore, 77,_6—71; H. R. Baigent, 91, 18—73. Next weekend the third rounds of the Brett Cup and eclectic competitions will be played.
