WIN FOR MARIST

Marist had an easy win from Technical Old Boys, at Kelburn Park, the game ending 7-1 in Marist's favour. The teams were:—

Marist: Turkington; Mahony, Laracy; Duffy, Hindle, QuivUc; Barton, E. Ivershaw, il. Condon, J. Kcrshaw, Marshment.

Technical Old Boys>: Ogg; Taylor, Bognudn; Bolt, Beadle, Clinic; Stewart, Torrington, Liddicoat, Cai.sley, Webster. The game was played in a bitterly cold wind and rain, and on occasions the players had great difficulty in keeping their ~tooting. With .a superior combination, Marist had their opponents on thtf~"defensive practically all the time, but

on occasions the Technical front line showed that they were capable, of some nice touches. Accurate parsing was an impossibility, but in spite of the muddy ground the Marist forwards were responsible for some nice .work, Marshment. in particular putting in some good shots in the first spell. E. Kershaw, M. Condon, anad J. Kershaw sliowed most prominently for Marist in the attack, and they were always a source of worry to the Technical defence. On the few occasions on which the Technical side: threatened the Marist defence, AVebster, Liddidoat," and Torrington were to the front,; the left winger, Webster, being the most prominent. At '.half-time, Marist led byl4 goals to 1, and in': the second spoil had no difficulty in. increasing their total. In this half Technical were rarely dangerous, and, in addition, the Mnrist defence was sound. Condon (3), E. Kershaw (2), J. Kershaw, and Barton scored for Marist, the Technical score being the result, o£ Quirke putting the ball through his own net from a rebound. ■ . — ,
