A WIN FOR MIRAMAR
Despite the handicap of a wafer-soaked "■round, unsheltered from the driving wind and rain, both Berhampore and Miramar gave quite a sound display of wet-weather football. Miramar's loose .rushes and dribbling'tactics won the day. ' ■After a ragged opening, the game developed into one, of Soccer tactics with Berhampore on attack. Good dribbling work by Thomson and Daweon. regained -round, and a forward rush ended m a swre by Hull. This was unconverted, and Berhampore returned to, the attack. Receiving the ball from a hne : out F Millar "crossed the line close in, and Lang converted. Indecisive play 'ended the hrst half, the teams then changing over without an interval. ' , Forward tactics were continued. JLiiamar attacked steadily, Loehore kicking a penalty and Arbuthnott scoring-alter a sound, forward rush. Arbuthnott broke through a little later, and scored handily, unopposed. Parfitt's superior speed resulted in a score, after which Lawer crossed through pretty forward play. A rush by Berhampore broke? the.Minimal defence, Martin scoring. On time, Hull scored for Miramar, and Lawer s conversion made the final score 23-8 in Miramar s favour. Mr. R. J. Paton was referee.
