KNOCKED DOWN BY TRUCK

MASTEBTON, This Day
A rather unusual accident, which fortunately was not attended by serious injury, occurred on' the CartertouMastcrton road at about 5.30 o'clock on Saturday evening. ■-A man named Vincent Seymour Wilton, of Upper Plain, was driving south in a light motor-truck, and as he was Hearing Jackson's Service Station his ■windscreen was broken as he thought by a flying stone. Mr. Wilton immediately alighted, and'to his surprise found a young girl lying between the bonnet of the truck and the front mudguard. When picked up the girl, Janet Hardy, of Norfolk Boad, appeared to be slightly dazed, but she soon recovered, and was conveyed to her home by Mr. AVilton.
It appears that she was cycling home on the correct side of the road when she was struck by the truck. A thick drizzle of rain wa.s falling, and visibility was bad.
At her home Ihe girl was attended by Dr. J. A. Cowic, and her condition is reported as satisfactory. She- is suffering from slight head injuries and shock.
