Invitations have been Issued by tho committee of the: Star Boating Club for a ball to -be held at the Mayfair Cabaret in August. Invitations have been issued for tho twenty-third, anniversary meeting of tho British Sailors' Society, to be held on Wednesday, July 26.
"Back To Childhood" Evening.
An unusual and enjoyable evening was spent by members and friends of Croxley Houso Club—House of Dickinson—at The Bealin, Hataitai. last week, when the second of the club'a joy; nights in the form of a.'.'Back to Childhood V ovening was held. Many, and varied wero the costumes, which did much to lend atmosphere- to tho evening. A pleasing and novel event was tho "lucky" dip, from which tho dancers received toys of all kinds.-
League of Mothers,
The Lyall Bay and Kilbirnie branch. of the League of Mothers.are holding their first combined meeting of mothers and fathers on Tuesday evening next, at 7.45 p.m., in the Methodist Church Hall. Professor Gould, will .be tho speaker, and musical and elocutionary; items are being arranged. Supper will be provided, and it is hoped that all members will bring their husbands.; A good evening is r assured.... . -.■ Kindergarten Mothers' Club.
The Newtown Mothers'' Club held another Successful social evening, recently. Thore was a large attendance, Miss Richmond and Mrs. Hardy played excellent dance music. The committeo arranged ' sonio, novel items; Miss Thwaits's and Mrs. Hill's; singing and a whistling itenv by Mrs. Hall wero much enjoyed. Miss Hamilton accompanied Mrs. Hill. Tho Mothers' Club hopes to arrange another, evening of this mature some time in August.
St. Patrick's Old £oys,
Arrangements have been practically finalised in connection with the eighth annual ball of tho St. : Patrick's College Old Boys' Association, to be held at the Mayfair Cabaret, Cuba Street, on Wednesday next. Blue and white, tho college asolours,.will be' the predominant note in, the novel scheme of decorations evolved by the ladies' committee, under the leadership of tha Misses McEvedy and Goodson.: Tno rectors of the two colleges,will be the guests of the association, and many old boys from outside Wellington have notified their intention to be present. '
