(By Telegrapii.—Press Association.) NEW PLYMOUTH, July 2. P. Hawes, of Christchurch (Bst 81b), defeated J. Franklin, of Gisborue (Sst 131b), ou points in a twelve-round boxing contest. It was one of the brightest bouts seen- in New Plymouth for a.-very ■ long time. .
