j (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) AUCKLAND, July 2. I' A hasty decision by the referee, who awarded a . submission fall to George Walker in the final round of a wrestling contest; with Al. Pereira, heavyweight j champion of Portugal, on Saturday evening, gave Walker a victory. Up to this incident no falls had been registered, and a draw appeared likely, with honours in favour of Pereira. The eighth round had not long been in progress when Walker angled for a Boston crab. He stepped over preparatory to exerting pressure, but Pereira was not flat out and was lying on his side. Anxious to avoid punishment for Pereira. the referee hastened to *t>ush Walker off bis opponent. Pereira shook his head as a signal that he did not intend to submit, but the referee- had already patted Walker's back..
