Bowlers again performed conspicuously in tiie series of county cricket championship matches completed today, and some very small batting totals wero recorded. Verity and Macaulay wore far too strong a bowling combination for the Warwickshire batsmen, and as a result Yorkshire registered another easy win. *. Towhscnd, of Derbyshire, secured fourteen victims against Gloucestershire (six for 64 and eight' for 2(5), and Goddard, of Gloucestershire, was nearly as destructive. In the batting department Tyldesley (159 not out) and Iddon (100 not out) came to light in Lancashire's second innings, and Nichol scored a century for Worcestershire. The results are:— Middlesex v. Worcestershire, .at Lord's. —Middlesex, 294; Worcestershire, 299 (Nichol 112). Worcestershire won on the first innings. Essex v. Kent, at Chelmsford. —Kent, 129 (Smith five for 38) and 110 (Nichols seven for 52); Essex, 203 (Freeman five for 73) and 37 for two wickets. Essex won by eight wickets. Derbyshire v. Gloucestershire, at Chesterfield. —Derbyshire, 260 (Goddard five for 49) and 123 (Goddard six for 52); Gloucestershire, 200' (Townsond six for 64) and 112 (Townsend eight for 26). Derbyshire won by 71 runs. Yorkshire v. Warwickshire, at Leeds. —Yorkshire, 229 (Sutcliffo 71); Warwickshire, 03 (Verity four for 18, Macaulay four for 36) and 101 (Verity five for 25, Macaulay five.for 33). Yorkshire won by an innings and 65 runs. Somerset v. Hampshire, a.t Portsmouth.—Somerset, 190 and 272; Hampshire, 93 (Wellard seven for 43) and 262 (Creese 96). Somerset won by 107 runs. Glamorgan v. Lancashire, at Swansea. —Glamorgan, 389 (Dyson 68, Turnbull 63); Lancashire, 164 (Watson 74; Mercer six for 34) and 389 for three wickets (Tyldosley 159 not out,-Iddon 100 not out). Glamorgan won ou the first innings.
