Unpaeed, Sid Jarv;is, New Zealand jufciof boys' free-style swimming champion, put up a great performance in an. attack on the 220 yds New Zealand junior record of 2min 37sec, held by Noel Crump, Auckland. Jarvis did 2min 38 2-ssec, an Otago junior, and* senior record and in view of the admitted slowness of the Dunedin water his effort was outstanding. At this stage of the seasOn his improvement in twelve months has been remarkable,-since he the' New Zealand junior title the'season before last, ja 3niin 9 4-ssec.
