ASSOCIATION MEETS'
The monthly meriting of the Northland Home and'Sclrool Association was hqld this week. „aV_r. C. L. Blackburn1, piesided ovefa full attendance of anembcis. The association is affiliated 'with the Wellington J3ehool Committees'' and Educational Federation. It was decided to send a'letter of appioeiation to Mr. F. M. Pinfold (the assistant toachoi) for his tianung of the school choir, which won a shield at the leccnt Ma.tciton, competitions. The SPC.etary1 rcpoited that the fortnightly dances and caid evenings were pioving populir and weie a veiy satis'iactoiv souice of revenue. Appreciation of the woitt of -the sub-fomlnittccs in charge of 'these functions was cxpicssed. A compiehensive scheme of improvements is being carried ont at tho school, and residents in tho Northland district havo been invited to inspect the work already done. AVorkmen a.c now extending the rockery. Authonty is to bo sought for a raffle to augment the association's funds. The clnldien of the school recently held a bnzani which lcrjulted in a net profit of 5.13. '
