The scheme, which-ie dependent on (ho gia iting of a subsidy by othci interests, involves the distribution ot 720,000 loaves to genuine lehet woikers dunng the ne_.t tlucc or/four months. The pi ice to be ihaiiged relief woik ers undei the scheme lepicsents a ie duction of 25 pei cent, on (he present standaid pnee of the 6d loaf. The total cost ot 720,000 loaves at the standaid puce would bo £18,000, and the total ieduction to idiot woikcis would be £4500.. In older to piovido a subsidy to cover this amount the association has. agreed to hud £3000, provided the leiukinder (iliOO) is subscubcd by a rqlief oiganisation or other tiadc in terests. The executive ot the association has cmpowcicd the secretary tb inteivicw other interested bodies with a view to obtajriing additional money. It,the full subsidy is available, it is pioposcd that bread coupons, each valued at 6d, should be sold to lelicf voikcis at 4Jd. They would be accepted at their face value by any\mouibci of the Mastci Bakeis' Associition, who could then redeem them at their t ac c value at tho offlco of the association.
