BUTTER QUIET, CHEESE SLOW

The butter market in London is quiet according to reports by cablegram of the close of business on Thursday received by the Dairy Board today. Prices for New. Zealand salt butter are from 77s to 70s per ewt, and unsalted frojm 80s to 84s. The retail price ie unchanged a.t lOd, and Danish is selling retail at lid Is. Australian salt butter is equal to J/6s to 795. The Danish spot price is B!_ji to 91s. The stock position is aa, follows:— Butter. June 23. June 23. 1933. 1932. Paterson and ICo., Ltd., advise having received yesterdjiy cable advice from J. and J. LonsdaHj and Co. (London), Ltd., as follows*— "Butter: Market slow. New Zealanll, 78s per ewt; Australian, 78s per ewt. Cheese has more inquiry. White, 46s 6d per ewt; coloured, 515." The New Zealand Producers' Co-opera-tive Marketing Association's cabled report from London, dated June 23, states that the butter market has closed steady after a quiet week.
