CHRISTCHURCH, June 23. There was a spurt in the potato market during midweek, but principally to operators calling for June .deliveries, but matters have quietened since. Quotations today -foi* whites are £4 15s, f.0.b., s.i., but buyers are few at this figure. The equivalent on truck value is £3 10s to £3 12s Od. Dakotas appear to be very scarce, as £5 15s, f.p.b. s.j:, is being quoted, and the market is very firm. There is very little disposition* on tho part of traders to deal in forward deliveries. Reports of crops continue to. be variable, but generally yields are turning out lower than was expected. The later crops, which met with the worst effects of the drought, are the most affected,
