BOMBS SENT TO PRESIDENT
YOUNG ITALIAN'S PLEA
NEW YORK, June 20. Joseph Doldo, a son of an" Italian factory worker, was arrested at Water-! town, New York, today as the sender of two crude shoe-box shotgun-shell bombs to President Roosevelt during the winter. . ' \ The "VVatertown police said that Doldo had admitted trying to send a package containing an improvised explosive to the President in February last, and mailing other packages and threatening letters since. He said he did it "just for fun." It,is believed he is mentally deficient. . Accused is held on an open charge.
