Mr. R. J. Estall, who was unanimously re-elected conductor, of the Woolston Band at the annual meeting of the band last week, has been a player in the band for 37 years, and conductor for the last 20 years. Mr. E. Round, who was re-elected treasurer of the band, has' filled the position for 20 years, and ivas previously secretary. Mr. Round has not missed one of the 42 annual meetings held by the baud. The executive of the Red Cross Society and Order of St. John passed a resolution yesterday expressing regret at the resignation of Dr. Colquhoun, Red Cross Commissioner in London, and delegate to the Council of the League of Red Cross Societies, and placed on record its warm appreciation of Dr. Colquhoun's services. Mr. Walter Reid, of Messrs. Reid and Reid, New Zealand representatives: for Arthur Bell and Sons,' Ltd., Perth, Scotland, left for the south-last night, accompanied by Mr. W: G. Farquharson, a director of the last-named company. , • ■ . Mr. G. H.
