MASTEIITON, This Bay. j At its May meeting the Mastcrtou Borough Council adopted a proposal, submitted by the Wairarapa Returned Soldiers' Association, that the development of Mnwley Park should be carried out entirely by unemployed ex-servicemen, tho .■is=otintion offering to place the sum of : Col2j the proceeds of the Poppy Day fund at the disposal of the council for the payment of wages. As a result, however, of advice received ;it last'night's meeting of the council from the association, the proposal, previously adopted will not be put into force. The proposals embodied in a special report by the borough engineer for' the further development of the. park will now lie carvied'out by ordinary relief -workers.
