DRILL DISPLAY IN TOWN HALL

On Friday night in the Town. Hall at 8 o'clock, a large number of teams from the various Government departments are competing in a drill contest. The girls have been. training assiduously for this event for several weeks now, and an excellent show is promised. Points will be awarded for marching, neatness, and the captains. The teams consist of eight ladies and a captain. At the conclusion o£ the contest a massed display will be given of drill, inarching, snake inarching, and torch marching, and Miss Betty Wynne, the lady commander of the Public Service Brigade will then renew all the girls. The costumes are extremely pleasing. A special display will also be given at 2.30 o'clock on Friday afternoon in the Town Hall, and this will afford an opportunity to many who cannot be present at the evening session. On Saturday night at S o'clock in the Town Hall the final awards among the leading teams only will be made. The lady commander will again review the various teams, and the massed, display wilt again, be given., At the conclusion of this portion of the programme the floor will be thrown open for dancing, till midnight. The proceeds of the contest are to go to the Mayor's Fund. '-■---'■ - ;
