. CHRISTCHURCH, This Day. The South Canterbury Jockey Club's Winter Meeting, to bo held at Washdyke tomorrow, should provide some capital racing. It will be a popular outing for Christchiirch sportsmen, and with winter demanding an early finish, it will be. possible to do the meeting from here and back by express train. The following horses may be fancied: — Pukaki Hurdles.—Polling Day, Morena, and Gold Kuight. Southern Stakes.—lmperial Spear, Some Shambles, and Quite Soon. Wai-iti Trot.—Ronald Derby and Royal Escort. Prince Edward Handicap.—Zccbrugge, Mount Boa, and Locksle.v. Pareora Steeplechase.—Deportment and Barrington. ■ Winchester Trot.—Boyal Escort and Great Minto. : Temuka Hack Handicap.—Folydora and Trek. Soadown Handicap.—Merry Peel, Silver Streak, and Palantua.
