FREE KINDERGARTEN

COUNCIL ENTERTAIN The dance and bridge party arranged annually by tlic Wellington Free Kindergarten Association is anticipated every year with much pleasure, and the large crowd which1 gathered at the Mayfair Cabaret last evening was given an excellent evening's entertainment. The usual decorations of the cabaret were enhanced by. large bowls" .of hydrangeas ja winter tones, and on the long supper tables were vases of Iceland poppies. . . , . Bridge-was arranged for non-dancers, and lounges comfortably furnished for sitting out. Several young girls sold sweets, and during the evening a graceful exhibition of ballroom dancing was given liy Mr. E. Priestley and Miss M. Wilson. The supper had been collected by members of the Women's Auxiliary, and Miss Cooper, Mrs. Walter Blundoll, and Mrs. Peterson had been responsiblo for the- decorations. The guests were received by Mrs. H. B. Gibbs (who woro a black ring velvet frock and a brocaded coat) and by Mrs. H. P. F. Davidson (who was in a winered laco frock). Members of the council and the Women's Auxiliary present wore Miss Hall (who wore a black frock with, overdress of gold lace), Mrs. D. C. Peacock (in a fcock and cape of cherry red satin), Mrs. Walter BlundeJ) (black lace), Mrs. -S.
