FOR SMITH FAMILY
MONSTER BRIDGE ..PARTY A further effort to raise funds for the Smith Family was made yesterday afternoon, when a monster bridge party was held at the Hotel St. George. In the Palm Lounge, which was made very cosy and warm/about fifty tables were arranged for bridge, solo, and MaliJong. , The organisers were Mrs.' Bernard Wood, Mrs.C. E. Richardson, and-Mrs. E. W. Kane, and during the afternoon Mrs; Wood thanked all who had helped by attending, and also Mr. Bassant, who had lent the lounge. Sweets were sold by Misses Mac Gilmer, Betty Herbert, and Jessie. Peacock, and a competition for a cake, presented by Mrs. Richardson, was won by Mrs. Carwell Cooke. Tea was servea at the tables. Among the players were:—Mesdames W. Young, C. M. Martin, A. D.
