AN OFFICER REWARDED

The King has awarded the bronza medal for gallantry for saving life at sea to James William Scott, first mate of the Southern Cross. Scott swam ashore with a line despite the storm, darkness, and sharks when the vessel was wrecked at Aniotyum Island ■■ o* October 31 of last year.
