Mrs. T.-C. A. Hislop, Salamanca Baud, has been paying a brief visit to Blenheim and Christchuroh, and will return to Wellington tomorrow morning.

Mrs. Philip Nathan, Karori, will leave 'Wellington, on Saturday evening for a visit to Christchurch.

1 Mrs. Charles Levin, Karori, who is the guest of Mrs. Lan MacEwan, Remucra, Auckland, will return to Wellington on Sunday. >

Miss-Sheila Hudson, who has been tho gueat of their Excellencies, Lord and Lady Blcdisloe, at Government House, Auckland, will visit Mrs. Guy Williams, "To Parae," Masterton, before returning to Wellington. She will stay with Mrs. W. Watson, Halswell Street, prior to returning to England on June 23. , , . . . .

Misa Julie Russell, Melbourne, left Wellington for Christchurch this week, and is the guest of Mrs. Walter Bridge, St: Alban's. • '. .

A dinner party was given' in' Christchurch on Tuesday evening 'in honour of' Lady Aeland, and to convey to her the congratulations' of her friends on the honour recently conferred upon her husband, Sir I^ughAcland, by tho King. The party, which was organised by Mrs. James Maling and Miss Monica Cocks, was held at the New City Hotel; and was followed by a picture party.

Mrs. Clendon, the wife of Mr. S." Clendon, died at Lower Hutt on Tuesday. The Hutt Eiver Board yesterday passed a resolution of sympathy with Mr. Clendon, who is an ex-member of the board. ■
