N.Z. ASSOCIATION
A meeting of the Kew Zealand Licensing Kcforni Association was held on Tuesday. .; -^ ;
Tho Yen. Archdeacon Williams, , of Pailiia, was re-elected president, and Mr. D. M. .Findlay vice-president.
Tho following were re-elected members of the Dominion executive:—The Rev. E. M. Cowie, Messrs.. M. A. Carr, ,T. McDonald, W. Perry, J. ,F. Atkins, L. O. H. Tripp, D.' Madden, and A. Young , '-'"■' ■'■~ After disposing of formal business the following resolution. was passed:— "The association, notes:; that the president of the- New Zealand Alliance, in his recent statement of Prohibition policy, claims that there is need for the iiroTa effective /teaching of what he calls 'the truth about' alcohol' in the schools ■From this.it is"evident; that the Prohibition party intends' to renew its efforts to use the schools for the purpose/ of Prohibition propaganda. While this association snpporta the teaching of true temperance, it views with alarm this threatened abuse of our public school system by the attempt to further, the now:' universally discredited Prohibition plan, and; resolves to take all possible means to prevent it". :' ""-• '. ..-''■■ .■'<:.
