DISTEMPER PREVALENT

(By Telegraph.—Press Association.) CHPJSTCIIURCH, Juno 14.' Distemper has been very prevalent in Canterbury, recently and some sheep farmers have lost their entire dog teams. The general committee of the Canterbury Agvicultual and Pastoral Association decided today to ask for reports on the disease from the Department of Agriculture and from its own veterinary surgeons. The committee also decided to ask county councils to set aside a portion of the proceeds from the sale of dog licences towards a fund for combating the disease.
